In July I will fly from Livermore CA to Oshkosh the plan is to follow I80 through the Rockies, first day I will finish in Wendover for an early departure next day crossing Salt Lake City.
I appreciate any advice on what to expect crossing the Salt Lake Bravo airspace through the I80 transition via VPAIR, VPKSL, VPSLC which altitude should I expect? is no problem to follow this VFR route or sometimes is denied and I will get vectors?

The SLC controllers are some of the MOST INCONSIDERATE and most RUDE/UNCOMPROMISEING I"ve ever encountered.
I recommend circumnavigating their airspace.

The several times I have crossed Salt Lake I have not encountered any issues

I've flown there on numerous occasions and on only one trip of many was it without problems. The problems were not regarding MY flight...but I listened/observed some pretty angry controllers dealing with both GA and jet aircraft at the outlying airports. It got pretty heated at times.

As a general rule I avoid class airspace whenever possible. I have had direct/my own navigation clearances thru class airspace at times but have also been vectored many miles out of the way other times. So I plan my flights to miss or go under class airspace where I don't have to call anyone. That's just my preference, not a recommendation. Some people enjoy talking on the radio, I don't.

The I80 VFR transition is no big deal. Follow the high way at 7500 feet east bound, contact approach and request the I80 transition. You will get a class B clearance and fly right over SLC. It is usually easy to cross class B airports perpendicular to the runways at 3000 feet AGL. Give it a try.
