Cigarette Lighter

Post by Lee »

Hi ... would like to know how to remove the cigarette lighter from the instrument panel ... not the lighter per se, the mount for the lighter.

The “cigarette” lighter SOCKET is made of two parts (I’m not discussing the heater-element which originally plugged-into the socket and which almost no one uses anymore)

The two parts are the “socket” and the “Socket case”

The Socket is threaded into the case. Simply disconnect the wiring, then grasp the case and twist it to unscrew it from the socket. You will likely have to hold the rim of the socket to prevent it from rotating to complete the unscrewing of the case.

The socket is pulled out (toward the seats) from the panel.

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons. ;)
