The number of people voting [in any election] is a direct indication of voter intrest or apathy. Some consider the value or lack thererof of their individual vote is reason enough for some to decline to participate. Fraud, vote buying and dirty campaigh tricks turn may turn other voters off for ever.
The 50% that never vote could care less what happens till it starts to interefere with watching "Idol", their favorite "Reality show" or whatever SPORT is on the TV at the time. Then their pitiful cries only mimic what ever drivle they see on that same "tube". It is probably better that they don't vote anyway. Who cares what a couch potato thinks?
OLE GAR SEZ - 4 Boats, 4 Planes, 4 houses. I've got to quit collecting!
In a microcosm of public apathy nationwide, on April 5th, in Missouri City, MO, Joe Selle was re-elected to city council even though NOT EVEN HE voted for himself. NO ONE VOTED at all!
True to what you've always been told...unless you do something different....you'll keep getting what you've always gotten! Joe Selle has been awarded another term because the law provides that he was not replaced by any opponent, because no one voted...even JOE "FORGOT" to vote! Talk about APATHY!
If any one of the 32 qualified voters had even bothered to vote for a WRITE IN.... that person would have won the "race". Sounds like a "no starter" to me.
The entire city charter should be dissolved since no one there seems to take an interest in city matters.

50th Anniversary of Flight Model. Winner-Best Original 170B, 100th Anniversary of Flight Convention. An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons.
I don't know much about the current office holder, but it sure looks like the Peter Principal is at work. Why can't we get people in the FAA with some reasonable aviation background? Same for other positions, folks need to have some hands on experience in their field to understand the direction they need to take in fulfilling their jobs!
