Right now I'm the owner of a '48 cessna 140. In the very near future I plan to purchase a cessna 170 B. Do all 170 B models come with metalized wings? I would like to purchase one without any fabric. Any information from the group would be a great help. I plan on selling my 140 only after the purchase of a 170. I can't see myself without a plan for even a very short time.

All A and B models had metal wings and no fabric. Go here for a brief history of the Cessna 170 http://www.cessna170.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=228

Yes the 170 sometimes referred to as the straight or plain 170 which was only manufactured in 1948 is the only model with fabric wings.
