What a wonderful lady she is too! Had the opportunity to meet her in the late 80's or early 90's while operating a DC3 in conjunction with Kalitta Flying Service out of Morristown.I doubt there was a day went by while I was there that she wasn't airborne with students, weather permitting.Seemed as if she was always in the pattern when we were coming & going in the "3".At the time I thought she ran that airport from the right seat of that C152.God bless her ,I hope she has many more birthdays in her future.

We met Evelyn several years ago when she was still performing check rides. She was very interesting to talk to.

A truly inspiring lady. Seems to me that I read one time that she didn't even start flying until she was almost a middle aged woman.

Evelyn told us that when she was learning to fly, she would take a bus to Knoxville and then a man would row her across the river in a rowboat to take her lessons. I think she said this was toward the end of WW-II.
