Old Iron Nuts

This is for all you "Old-Iron Nuts" out there. Here's two Lanz "Bulldog" tractors pulling a light load.

(For those that don't know, a Lanz Bulldog is a single-cylinder tractor with a NINE-inch bore! If you listen carefully you will hear each and every, single firing-stroke as it pulls a "lightly-loaded" trailer.

What fun that would be to have out in the field really working! Even worse than a John Deere. My Dad would never have a JD on the farm because of the sound - all our tractors were Farmalls. He wasn't against green though, we had JD combines, grain drills and field choppers.

I have to admit that this was a new one on me although I admit not knowing much about foreign mfg'd tractors. Interesting that the company was purchased by John Deere and continued to sell them in Europe for quite a long time. Personally I preferred the Green & Yellow JD's as a kid (and now). Especially when we got away from Case & Farmall's & got to the 720/730 Diesels where we had a lot more power & could cover a lot more in a day. They were hard to beat! However, I kinda liked that Lanz Bulldog with the windshield & shade in one of the video's
