Wondering how many are planning to make the fly-in and delicious BBQ at Taylor (T74) tomorrow The forecast calls for some low ceilings and fog in the area, so everyone be careful. I'm sure there will still be BBQ at 1PM if you need to delay your arrival. I'm hoping I don't have to fly the T-38 tomorrow and will be able to get there in my -170.
I plan to check weather in the morning and then decide to fly or drive Just can't wait get to the BBQ and see who shows up. Last year I think approximately 15 showed up.....but we all drove due to the weather.

What a pleasant suprise to wake up this morning and see clear skies in Del Rio. Even better yet, the TAFs have been updated and show a much better picture in the T74 area. Work says if they need me to fly an instructional sortie today they will call by 9am. I will be sitting in the airplane awaiting that call, if 9:01 rolls by, I'm pulling the starter handle and heading NE.
Thanks to everyone for their great hospitality today. It was so nice to put faces to the names. About the tailwind home, NOPE! 6500' halfway home GS was down to 69KTS, 4500' bought me about 5KTS for another 30 minutes. The last 40 minutes was 65KTS. I purposely avoided all roads so I wouldn't see the cars pass me. Wind was within 30 degrees of runway heading at home though and only blowing 18-22. Thanks again!
Would be nice to see some nice weather pics. It's been some winter around here. Thursday Friday Saturday we have had rain, snow, ice, sleet, thunder, power has been in and out. Thousands of people are out of power just west of me and now we have winds up to 45 mph.....it would be really nice to see some sunshine even if it's a picture

This wasn't on the way to Taylor, but at on of my buddies place at Ft Clark Springs, Tx, 35 miles east of Del Rio. We did talk about having one of our fly-in destinations at Ft Clark though, so therefore it is an official Partially Sunny (no-snow) winter day picture from the Taylor Fly-In.
Enjoy Jughead
