Verified the part number and politely said Thanks but no thanks.
Yes. Owner produced part looks like a great option.
They didn't have any L-19 bumpers. I was thinking about adding those too.
Perhaps that explains why they still have 54 of them.
What "bumper" are you talking about? Do you mean the rudder bellcrank bumper? Item 24, PN 0660341 available from Air Repair? 662-846-0228

bagarre wrote:Yes, that bumper. I saw your earlier post about it and was considering it.
Would I need approval for that or would it be considered a minor alteration?
Do you wish to complicate your life? Or is this a minor thing, in your opinion?

I was making an attempt @a joke ... its minor..in MY opinion.
You COULD make your own...but this simple part is more trouble
To make than you might realize...and is not expensive.

I bought shackles in hopes to install the cables ala L-19 style...no joy there as the mounting holes are too far inboard for the shackle to attach.
So, I grabbed some flat steel, made some nice links and lacquered them black.
Between that, the short barrels and the right eye lengths; I have a properly adjusted rudder with the pedals 6.5 inches away from the firewall.
I used two of the shackles on my tailwheel springs so, they weren't a total loss
It's amazing what the right parts can do.
Now, as soon as I finish the new breakers and floating panel, I can go flying again.
