Original Interior paint and fabric schemes
Hi I just purchased a 170B and am thinking of getting a airtex interior. Where can I find great looking photos of 170 interiors and instrument panels and where can I get info on original looks

One method might be to use the "search" routine in these forums. Example, using "original sales brochure" brings this link:

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons.

Go to second page of Pilot lounge (N2935D Makeover Debut) for pictures of original interior, and paint. Hope this will help Rusty

Re: Original Interior paint and fabric schemes
I have what I believe is still the original 1953 interior on mine that matches the Cessna 170 brochure George linked to above. The material is sun faded from 58 years of life. Notice how bright the red is under where the window latch covers it when closed. Portions of the door panels next to your shoulders had become so frayed that aircraft grade duct tape
was placed over the holes to stop continued fraying. There is ancient old fiberglass insulation peeking out of the holes. I took these photos recently to take to an aircraft interior shop to get some estimates. The headliner is in pretty good shape, appears original too and has 2 small holes in it (no Pics). If this does not appear original, please let me know.
