Pre Buy Inspection

Post by dj2790 »

I would like some help in finding a mechanic (IA) qualified to do a pre buy inspection in the Grand Rapids, Muskegon, MI area. If anybody in the association can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I would also like some recommendations (and experiences) for engine overhaul (C145). Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You should be able to get any number of posts on the forum regarding pre-buy inspections. Try the "SEARCH" feature. You will find more than one post by George cautioning against pre-buy inspections. He feels, and I agree, its much better to spend the money to have a full blown annual inspection done by a mechanic other than the one who has been maintaining the plane. Good luck :!:

You could try Derek DeRuiter at Northwoods Aviation in Cadillac, Mi. His dad Don is a member in the association and still flies pipeline patrol with a 180 hp 52 170B, though he sold Northwoods to Derek when he "retired".
