The question that was running around in your mind no doubt was this. Do I drive the controls with servos which in turn drive the little Arash pilot or do I build a little animatronics Arash pilot to drive the controls?

This quandary would have kept me up all night.

You'll need a servo or two in the litle Arash pilot to reach down and grab the flap handle, or are you going to install the EZFlap?

This is really an amazing thread. How long have you been off your meds?

A four banger? I think that's your biggest deviation from stock so far. Now you need to do the cowling with the lycoming blisters to make it right with that engine...

thats a cool looking motor. looks like a four stroke - what fuel,displacement, how fast do you run it? Is the propeller scale diameter? most important - will it sound cool?

How will you set up the exhaust? Will you try to make 2 into 1's and come out in the original spots?

They sound amazing. Very throaty, and surprisingly quiet. A friend has a Hostelter 150 with that engine and it's a hoot.

There are a ton of engine standoffs in the market, and I'd be willing to bet these places do custom work. I can dig around, if you'd like.

In the first picture it doesn't look like you need stand offs just thrust wedges under the motor mount. Unless of course you don't want the look of thrust wedges.

Wow that is parallax in action. I wondered why you moved the engine for, and the point of the second photo.

Those horizon hobby stand offs are cute. I'd make my own on my lathe today. What did I ever do when I built models and didn't have a lathe. Oh thats right I'd have used standoffs made of tube. What ever scrap tube I had around. Steel from car brake line or maybe vacuum system, aluminum or brass from K&B, copper from the ACE plumbing section. I'd look at the stainless brake line assortment as well. With steel brass and copper you can easily solder a washer to the ends for a flange. And don't discount hollowing out a wood dowel.
