Our family has some grapefruit/orange groves down in the Texas valley, and it's a tradition that we all gather there around late Nov/early Dec to picnic and pick grapefruit to carry home.
Invariably after lunch, some of the kids will get into an "orange-lobbing" contest while the parents pick up after the picnic.
My daughter, Ashley, was 9 and was on the receiving end of such an orange which hit her in the right eye with similar results. I was holding her and consoling her while she sobbed, and I said, "I'm so sorry you're hurt, sweetheart. I wish it were me instead."
Without hesitation she replied, "Me too."

Taken JAN 12, 2008 (About 1 1/2 months after my broken hip and partial hip replacement) I eased out onto the deck and shot this morning sunrise. It looked so much like a forest fire that at first, I was a some concerned.
