Ben,
For inspiration take a look at Rusty’s 2018 EAA Grand Champion Gold Lindy winner or Mike’s beautiful turquoise’55. For the base coat on my plane I’m looking for a faux bare aluminum paint color. Most silver colors don’t look right to me. Here’s one color that looks promising. If you’re selling the plane rather than keeping it though you might want to give your apprentices some polishing experience! My guess is that the plane will sell for more polished with original turquoise paint than with a full base coat. Regarding interior, you said your fabric was “trash”. Did it happen to be the original blue? Places not exposed to the sun, like under the rear ashtrays, might reveal what the original fabric looked like. Regarding the original interior trim color -- Yosemite Blue -- I found here that in 1951 Packard used this as one of its color choices. It’s Duco paint code was 202-55824-H.
