here is my 1942 ford GPW WWII jeep SN 31262
i had a blast restoring it from the ground up.
took me about two years.
as you can see, i'm a little heavier!
now i'm restoring a willys slat grille MB,
also a '42

I'll bet that Browning barks pretty loud when you're sitting in the front seat like that! You got some ear-plugs?

well its very quiet,
it just rattles some
when driving down the road
cuzz it is demilitarized.
real one are very costly
and its a real pain
to license them.
BTW i don't mean to

They're not that bad to license...only about $200. It's the purchase price of a good one that's bad, and then there's the feed-bill!
I've got a buddy with an M2 Browning (.50 cal) on a Pickup truck mount. It cost's about $4 a pop, times 600-800 rounds per minute!
(He reloads. No kidding. Even has a re-linker.)

yes, i've heard that it was about $1 per shot
but still at hundreds of rounds/min
it adds up to a lot of gallons of gas
that could be running my 170!!

That sure is a neat jeep. Maybe sometime if 1478D searial #20061, ten airplanes apart from yours, is in your area a ride in that jeep could be arranged?

metal seats w/only a couple layers of canvas for a cushion.
but what pleasure i have derived from it!!
especially when i take it to the airport
and then take a ride in my 170!!

Here is my first attempt to post a pic! Looking forward to the ride in the jeep. I bet it is a rough ride, those things look like they would be a blast to play around in.
This is 1478D camping in our Texas Oshkosh - Recklaw which is starting now with a little bit of weather problems, expecting a beautiful weekend though.

HHMMM!
The pic flashes up and then goes away! When I copy the address and paste it in the address block it takes me to the picture. Not sure what's going on, still working on it.
It might be because of where the pic is located, in my yahoo place. I think a person has to go there to see it, instead of allowing the pic to be viewed here. Not for sure though.

Joe,
I had the same problem trying to post pictures from my yahoo account. You are on the right track, but the problem is that all that gobbledy-gook at the end of the picture address is randomly generated by yahoo, and changes each time you look at the picture. In other words, the picture's address is not the same from one time to the next, and only valid once.
Try setting up a free account at
http://www.geocities.com or
http://www.photobucket.com .
Also, go into your profile and make sure that
Always allow BBCode is checked YES.
