i have written in this syle
long begore cell phones came out
and, believe it or not,
i have never sent a texted message over a phone.
and come to think of it,
even tho i am a dr.,
i use my phone only about 5-10 minutes/mo!!
i only carry it when i'm on call.
for goodness sake,
the last thing i want,
is for s.o. to call me.!!!
but as far as writing as i do,
it's a habit i got into during college.
a product of a steady diet of free verse!,
and perhaps that compulsion to be different.
i see on the jeep forums
that some try to emulate me,
but it doesn't last long,
perhaps its too different
or painful or silly to them to do this.

In online communications ALL CAPS IS CONSIDERED BY MANY AS SHOUTING.

i think iowa is sooooo isolated he is verrrry relaxed given no pressure from the hectic life a lot of us lead which is indicated by the lack of use of capitals.

in any case i'm just a bit more relaxed after reading his posts.

This of course is all in jest and I have enjoyed all the pictures and "conversation" from iowa.

hi bruce
sorry to lead this thread into writing style,
but i did start the post.
i got the idea of using no caps
from arthur hailey'is book AIRPORT.
remember the manager's (mel) girlfriend (was it tanya livingston?)
how she wrote short notes like mine
and hated caps, and used abbreviations like crazy,
even to the point of having an airline mechanic
chieseling off all the caps on her typewriter?
look it up.
in fact re read this great book!!
