I don't know why lifting the tail doesn't work for you. I can attach my spring without any stretching of the spring at all with someone holding the tail up.

Problem Identified: Not enough friends

Solution implemented: Get more friends

Result: Tail go up, bungees slide on

New Problem: Need more snow around these parts...
