Now that we are nicely back on subject, of all the controls on the pictured inverted Ford Heli-tractor which one is the Cylic? :roll:

The Robinson POH states: "Caution - Removable controls should be removed if the person in the left seat is not a rated helicopter pilot."

The cyclic in the R-44 is just like the R-22: It's a single "post" in the middle with a "Y" arm that rotates into position for either pilot, depending on who is flying. The R-44 is solo from the right seat only, and the left controls (both cyclic and collective) are easily removed.

For our airplane friends, the cyclic tilts the rotor disc and is operated with the right hand. The collective increases the pitch of the blades (and includes a throttle twist grip) and is left-hand operated.

Believe me, I was sick at watching that video as I know how the pilot must have felt. Thank goodness no one was hurt. I can see how the hangar door might not have been within the pilot's normal line of sight when he lifted to a hover.
