Back in the early 80's I moonlighted as an ultralight instructor. On one occasion Bob Dentice flew his 170 into the short one way strip just west of Banning pass we were using. I was quite impressed with the 170's performance. Of course it was lightly loaded at the time.
I see there is another highly-modified 170 for sale on another popular website. 225 hp turbo, electric flaps, 60 gal tanks, $30,000 of avionics. They leave out the part about the 200 lb. useful load. What engine do you suppose that is? I am guessing Franklin as they don't specify.

That airplane is, I believe, the one with a TSIO-360 Continental and it's under an experimental registration for development. This type of registration limits the geographic utility of an airplane without permission of the regulating FAA FSDO.
