Who sells them, and how much do they cost? Any idea how many hours labour to install?

I ordered mine last week and when I told them I was a member of the 170 Association they offered me a discount. Very nice and helpful on the phone. Keith

The estimted installation time for the tail pull handles is 1.5 hours. This is after you have completed about six installations.

Number 1 mod on my airplane in terms of usefulness. I'm a big guy so I can use those things to jerk and lift the airplane tail around to all manner of places - especially in snow - that I otherwise couldn't without either cracking something or requiring a second person who often simply isn't there.

I put those in my plane a couple years ago and they were a lot of money, but for what it's worth I've been very happy with them. Also if you start really looking hard at the stock attach points for shoulder harness installations in the B model (I'm not sure if the earlier 170s even had the option) it becomes pretty obvious that they aren't good for much more than a nose over. The BAS harness attaches to the carry through and also the thick skin on the cabin top in two places. Much stronger attach points for the top of the harness while the bottom lap belt uses the stock attach points on the floor.
