Heh, my financial plan doesn't anticipate making any money doing either in this era...lol. Upkeep on both is a killer. Just want a house to live in and an airplane to fly.gahorn wrote:I've made more money buying/selling airplanes than I ever did on houses.

Ray just keep focused and you'll get both. And if your ever back this side of the Allegeny's we can hook up for a ride. As I recall as we were trying to do this last time my airplane got damaged. I've got another which of late has been a real gas saver being it's stuck in the mud but that can't last long.
A bit closer but still a distance from you is members Jack and Trish Zimmer at Jimmy Stuart Airport. Don't know how, much if any, Jack is flying but he's got a '48 and a Piper J-5 project. Staurt's has regular pancake breakfasts the Zimmer's are involved with. Could be a Saturday road trip for you.

Bruce, I'd still like to take you up on that. Just hope nothing happens to your plane this time!
IDI is not far away at all, only an hour drive. Used to go to Indiana all the time since some family lives there. I may have to look them up.

That's why we like the fact you hang around here George. We just have to get close to a target with a hand grenade and you come along and kick it in the proper fox hole.gahorn wrote:Perhaps you meant Jimmy Stewart airport? Ray, don't rush the house vs. airplane decision. It may not be so obvious. My friend Pat used to say, "You can live in your airplane but you can't fly your house!"

You can always build an addition off the back of the hanger.

It always helps to have a big airplane if you want to live in it!http://www.costaverde.com/727.htmlDaveF wrote: "You can live in your airplane ... ."
