The New York State plane had the following: N1NY - at that time it was appropriate (Niny)

Here in NV the state plane is --> N711 Go figure!

As the owner of a "special" n-number I can tell you that mostly they are more trouble than they are worth. Pilot:"Tower November 7 Alpha 10 to the east inbound for landing". Tower:"N7A WHAT is your full call sign, your suppose to check in with the whole thing". Pilot:"Roger N7A is the whole call sign but we can make something up if you like?". This last comeback usually gets us an immediate clearance with the most direct routing.

We also have a company in El Paso Texas who wants to buy our N-number having written us a letter about every year or so for at least the last 10 years requesting to do so. Anybody know a company in El Paso that would identify itself with N7A? I'm wondering what they might be able to pay? :)

I once was approached by a solicitor for a tail number who offered to buy a new paint job for my employer if they could have the tail no.
Maybe they will buy you new paint? (heh-heh)

Used to have a 170A based at Westboro MA years ago with number N1D. Heard the plane was sold a about five years ago
and the number was sold separately for 20K. Know they were sold separately but don't know for sure the final price.
