Trying to step-turn the Goose that tightly was asking for trouble to start with. Poor judgement, like most other crashes. That take-off should have been rejected before the throttles were advanced.

For the record, Hoots personal records have been purged from the FAA data base much like a lot of famous celebrity's or people of influence. The attention that this story draws is udderly amazing. I do know Hoot sold the story rights recently as his health is starting to diminish. I encourage him to ride his bike every day but he just doesnt have the energy. He has had a heart transplant and fights rejection daily. The evidence is pretty daming in his story but in my hangar attitudes and egos are checked like coats. Thats why it is a popular watering hole. Russ I have passed on your well wishes! I to think the 72 was the best dam hot rod and I flew the 75 and the 76/300. The old addage in the 72 was "IF YOU COULD SEE IT OVER THE NOSE YOU COULD LAND IT!"

Hey Russ, Check Essential!

Hey George thanks for finding that. His records were purged some years ago. I do know as a matter of fact. I am almost sure that they will be again when Hooter finds this out. Its a long story. D

I think it's a "FOI" matter they be posted (except in cases of nat'l security, of course) but his contact info is hidden. I can fairly-well guess why, and don't blame him for wishing it so. (I've got an ex or two myself.)
