The compass you have may not have any clips in the holes or it may have any number of instrument nut clips. Looking closely at the picture you can see the nut clips in the upper two holes. Depending on the size of the instrument and the holes the screw that goes in these clips is different. The smaller size the compass has or could have is probably 6-32.IOWA'S 170

That part number is for the compass not the mount

Re: IOWA'S 170
I’m guessing 6-32 but could be 8-32 screws. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ ... key=242586
Your battery “sticker” can go anywhere you like... but i recommend you at least record the SN in your mx records (logbook).

What are your feelings about the
EAA Dues Rebate & Lifetime Member?
Received the offer today.
Looks like one would receive the
EAA Sport Aviation magazine for life
And a dinner at Oshkosh.
But no discounts for flying in and
Camping out during Oshkosh.
Is this a good deal for a 69 year old
man like me?

It would take 20+ years to break even. I did it last year just to pass along the Covid money I didn’t really need to a worthwhile cause.

Does the airworthy certificte have to be displayed
or can it just be in the aircraft paperwork
like in the rear seat pocket?
thanks

Re: IOWA'S 170
It must be displayed so that passengers and/or crew can observe it upon entering the aircraft. (It may be difficult…and it may be an unorthodox place to enter the aircraft…but the back-wall of the baggage-area (which happens to be included as part of the cockpit) is common in C-170 aircraft. It might be mentioned that if the original “hat shelf” is installed the certificate should be above the shelf in order to be viewed.) Other common places I’ve seen have been along sidewalls of cockpit areas.)
FAR 91.203(b) states "No person may operate a civil aircraft unless the airworthiness certificate required by paragraph (a) of this section or a special flight authorization issued under § 91.715 is displayed at the cabin or cockpit entrance so that it is legible to passengers or crew."

Spruce and Univair has these incorrectly labeled at Piper parts. In fact they are Scott parts that can be used on Cessna, Piper, Stinson and any other larger airframe a Scott tail wheel is installed.

Re: IOWA'S 170

My daughter and I had a great time this year at Oshkosh!
Flew in Thursday morning, so missed the big storm.
Really enjoyed being up there again,
and the hot air balloons on Friday night
Flew out Saturday morning.
Trip back was only spoiled by the smoke in the air

Re: IOWA'S 170
Spoke with Jim Dyer (Univair) about the TW spring kits at OSH this year. Both Spruce and Univair have their parts correctly identified. The difference between the C-170 pn U3239A-103 (Univair under Cessna) and the Piper U3239A-101 (Univair under Piper) is that the "Piper" chain is longer than the "Cessna" chain. Therefore, Spruce only lists the Piper U3239A-101 as it will work on both.Spruce and Univair has these incorrectly labeled at Piper parts. In fact they are Scott parts that can be used on Cessna, Piper, Stinson and any other larger airframe a Scott tail wheel is installed.

Re: IOWA'S 170
I stopped by the Univair booth as well
Not because of the TW spring kits
But just to say hello
And to let them know that I have
130 hours on my L-4B
Thanks to all their great parts!!
