THANKS Miles,
I have always thought yours is a great plane too, love the color scheme on yours. Mine sure is a smile maker when the prop starts turning. Got to commute to work in her for years, and morning after morning I couldn't hardly open the hangar doors for the excitement of getting to take off and fly over those freeways. Camping is still the most awsome fun though, you can go so many more places in a weekend vs a car.

Joe, looks like you've not only cleaned up your airplane, but you found tent poles too!

Thanks Dave, that's a great setting for a 170, pulled back into the trees on a grass runway in the East Texas Piney woods.
Kyle, back when you saw the plane it was a daily flyer commuting to work, it was needing a bath. Now that the company has moved to a different location and she is sitting in a hangar most days, she is all waxed up and I am handing out sunglasses to protect people's eyes.
Scott & Ginger sent me an extra set of tent poles, I keep them close by as you can tell. Good to hear from you.

Dave , If I could figure out how to post it, I would post a picture of my 57 356 Porsche with my 170B. I also have a red 911 like your picture, but I took it up to Nebraska and gave it to my Dad to drive for as long as he wants to keep it. What part of Iowa are you located. I will be up that way this summer. Jon

time for another pic!
here, sadly, is a picture
of the old nevada, ia airport office
where i learned to fly in 1968.
it is falling down and the runways
are now crop fields.
almost everyone uses Ames airport now.

my wife had lost my original logbook
many years ago.
about 5-6 years ago, i looked up my old flt instructor,
wm greenfield, who lives in davenport.
he was gracious enough to bring along his log book
and let me fill in the entries he for my dual time.
from this, i was able to reconstruct the 1st 40hrs!
it was windy that day......about 30mph!!
and we all know what fun it is to taxi in that!

The only thing you have to do is put that picture at a site that we can all get to without passwords.
If you can't put the url (address) of the picture in your browser window and view the picture it's not going to work here either.
