Bought the C.170 in Creston, BC in late March, flew it to the Yukon in April and to several locations in the Yukon and to Ft. Simpson and Ft. Liard in the NWT from my base in Whitehorse.
No flying since late October due to weather: too cold inNovember and too much snow in December.
Hope to be on skis within the next few weeks and to start flying again very soon.

Lots of new places, experiences and learning.

So that nobody feels bad, I had only 38 hrs this year. We had a bad spring and then I drove to BC for the convention when the east had good weather. I tried to catch up, but so many other things in my life makes it tough to even fly Young Eagles.

We tied the airplane down in Greenwood Lake, NJ. The new owner lived in Brooklyn so I spent a few days there seeing the sights. The weather was bad so I didn't get to make the flight down the Hudson that we had planned.

I flew 109 hours this year in my 170. This included a wonderful cross country trip from Mississippi to Idaho. First time to log some mountain flying hours. The trip put 45 hours in the log in two weeks. I got the 170A with the C-145 engine up to 14,500 ft. I did not think it would do that.

I put in 640 hours a year in the Hawker simulator, does that count? (Otherwise it's only about 100 hours in the 170.)

Yeah, but can you do Barrel Rolls in the simulator?

Did one yesterday, over NY harbour. (Had to spell it that way since I was in a British airplane.)

116.4 hrs. in the 170B, 12.2 in a 150, 10 in a 152, and 24.8 in a 172.

Only about 70 hours last year, down from over 100 average since 1999.

The cost of fuel did enter into this, but so did the amount of free time I have. Most fun hour I flew was in a 1940 J-4 Piper Cub Coupe...Russ Farris

Since we've sunk to some kind of new low, I'll mention the flight in 1976 in a 1955 G-35 Bonanza with a Tac-Air pneumatic autopilot between Key West and Punta Gorda, Fla. Night, overwater, and for some reason I didn't care ...Russ Farris

I've got a complete set of TacTaire installation and operation manuals for the Bonanza, should you still have that airplane, Russ.
Of course, my night-flight was done sans autopilot, on raw data.
