Thanks Steve. I prefer to get photos from the folks that actually took them or otherwise can give permission for its use. That photo is a good one and I could probably use it, but I doubt the person who took it would appreciate discovering that it was being used in a cash generating product without his/her permission - even though the money is donated to the ass'n.
sorry, but that's just a by-product of the world we live in these days...
I just emailed the guy who took the photo. He is a photo/aviation enthusiast who lives under the approach end of our airport. He is going to come out and do some more photos with us on a nearby grass strip, and some air to air shots. I will ask him about using the photos in the calender.
Don't want to beat the dead horse but the photog's name is Jim Dewitt and he has no problem with using the photos for whatever. He actually got a kick out of it. He said use them however, and he would sign a release if needed. By the way, Jim loves aviation photography so if any one else out in CA wants to do some photo stuff let me know.
We went out today to Clarksburg (CN13) and took some photos. Actually I just flew, Jim took the shots. I nice quartering tailwind on the non obstical end, so I opted to land around the 100ft tree at the other end, hence the angle of bank prior to touchdown.
Here is the link to some of his photos, the originals are 10 Megs and we have them on CD. We took 300 photos today. I think they are only up to 5 megs on this link. http://www.flickr.com/photos/28874624@N00/
There's something about the colors and exposure in this photo that really make it look authentic to the earlier days of the 170, like something you'd see in a magazine from the late 50's or early 60's.
You're right. It looks like an early color photo. Kinda neat.
Hey backcountry folks, how's about a few photos for the calendar? I still really haven't seen any in my email. It would be nice to have a broader range of subjects for the pictures.
I am going to buy a new camera before OSH and was planning on taking some pics of my ragwing sometime this summer - hopefully on grass (the airplane, not me!)

I need to have them by about the 2nd week of September. I have to have all the photos selected and resized and ready to go by the end of September in order to get the best pricing from the printer and ensure I receive the order in time to start shipping for the holidays.
Well folks, We're getting down to about 4 weeks to go before I order the calendar. Any other photos out there to submit? I still don't have any ragwing photos (1948 170s) - Anybody have one to submit? Tom? John Hess?
OK... More pictures have been coming... Thanks everyone!
I could still use a little help though... Anyone have any Petit Jean pics that I might be able to use in the calendar? I normally have a bunch by now, but this year I havn't received a single one.
Also, anyone know the dates for PJ 2008? I need them for the 2008 calendar. Dave's website still has the 2007 info.
Speaking of dates, I've been adding special dates to the calendar - Petit Jean, TIC170A Convention, Sun 'n Fun, Airventure... anyone have any thoughts on other dates they might like to see? EAA regionals (SWRFI, Copperstate, Golden Wext, etc)? Other flyins or events? I'm open to ideas.
