I was just reading a gun book about self defence autos and it was mentioned you need to shoot about a hundred rounds for practice and to wear in the slide for no misloads. I know I have had less with my mac.

Yeah, I know what you mean, John!
I will use an auto pistol for myself if I can shoot it enough to gain confidence in it...but for the women in my life.... I always give 'em a revolver! Simpler, and always reliable.
(Even my M-11 jams occasionally, so MAC ain't completely without fault. The only FA that's never messed up on me has been the STEN, but it's a bit bulky for everyday use. and not enough caliber!)
