FWIW, I tie my 170 out in MD as well...in the grass 50 feet from a corn field.
The plane has been soaking wet from condensation these last few weeks. In the past I've even had condensation problems in my static system.

I've never had a carb icing problem tho.

Just yesterday, I flew to work (W00 to KJYO ...sure beats the Beltway!) at 8am with lots of dew but no icing problem.
