what is the best way to obtain a couple of these?
or is it best to make them out of wood on a lathe? (what type of wood?)
has anyone milled one out of aluminum?
or cough up the crispy's
and buy one from either Univair or Chapparral?

So I search for Ford Lima Tan and low and behold I hit model of a '49 1949 Mercury Eight Coupe in Lima Tan, Haiti Beige.

Now one might get excited and think we're on to something. But then I actually have an original paint glove box door from '52 and prior that should be Lima Tan and it looks more like the roof color of this model than the body.

I found some different PPG codes here. The color of the Mercury in this picture looks very close to Cessna’s Lima Tan to me. But in the end, I too could not find a current paint code to match Lima Tan.

Noticed in the parts catalog there is a "Lima Tan" and a "New Lima Tan". It looks like the later year 170s used the "New".

I just realized the cover I showed earlier is likely from a 170 prior to '52 which means it is prior to the use of Lima Tan. Prior to Lima Tan the interior color was Silver French Gray and Interior Trim was Dark India or Cessna Blue Green.

So this door is probably Dark India not Lima Tan which makes a little more sense.

The plane in the video is a 1952 170B, s/n 20395. The color of the panel and glareshield looks to me to be a good example of Lima Tan. Your 1951 C-170A panel, according to the IPC, should have originally had been painted in Dark India. The gold on the bezel looks like it could be an alodine conversion coating.

I think this panel is what your plane should look like but with some color correction. The Silver French Tan is reflecting a little to much light. The red behind the plexiglas is truer to Matador Red that the rest of the red which is too bright.

i have an Icom IC-24 radio
i cannot get the unit to charge
ordered a new battery and still nothing
called chicago Icom and they felt it was a fuse
and to send it to them

have any of you had this problem
and know a way to remedy it?

My Icom hand held cigarette lighter charger has a fuse in the plug. That can be readily disassembled, inspected and replaced if necessary. My brick wall charger has no readily observeable fuse. Which charger are you using?

I am using the charger
that plugs into both the wall and the unit
I leave it plugged in for awhile
and then nothing happens when I try to power up
