Hi, I'm new to the boards, I fly a L-19, and found out about the group at the 170 fly in at Columbia CA this weekend. Great to see so many 170's in one place.
My friends and I have a small startup and recently launched an app to help pilots fly more and get more people into flying. It's a Facebook app with a mobile app coming soon. We're just launched and I would love to get some feedback.
If you use Facebook and like to fly with friend and take people flying please check it out and tell us what you think.

Aryana I'm so glad you posted your review. To be honest I was close to calling the post spam but then decided not to for the following reasons. (I did remove some of the links though)
1. I don't think the poster had the intent to spam.
2. It is FREE, well sort of, if you don't mind sharing everything you do with other Facebook members. If not then the price is loss of privacy. But then if you really want to protect yourself you wouldn't be on Facebook to begin with.
3. I'm pretty sure the poster and even YALLDO is not making money though there is advertising at the site which is at all Facebook pages and is how Facebook not YALLDO makes money.
4. We have members who might like the site and APP as you do and want to know about it in spite of #2 and my personal feelings about Facebook.
I personally don't like much of Facebook and use it sparingly to keep up with my kids, grand kids, extended family members and a few friends. I won't use any APPs despite how tempting it is.

I'll have to dig up some pics, but it's one of the best around. My only gripe is that it is left outdoors next to the SF Bay on a tiedown

That plane deserves to be snuggled up in a nice warm hangar!
If it's a TRUE MARINE.... it probably feels spoiled rotten just sitting near SF Bay instead of a combat zone!

Thanks for the compliment on the Birddog. It's especially nice to hear since I had to rebuild it from the ground up myself. It hurts to keep it tied down outside but for the price of a hanger in silicon valley I could repaint it and put a new motor on it every 5 years
On the APP.
It's Free
It will always be free for users
Privacy is very important to us
We made sure that users are in control. When you file a flight you can set our privacy slider to "Private", "Buddies Only", or "Public". You can also choose whether or not to share it on your Facebook wall.
Why we are on Facebook
We may separate ourselves from Facebook and we have been playing with the idea but here are a couple of real benefits to being a Facebook app. When people use their FB account to connect to the app, they are much more careful about what they say and don't say so because people know who they are. Also, it ensures that nearly every account is real.
On a personal note
I am passionate about growing the aviation community. We need to get more people flying and in particular, more young people. I think if we take our friends flying, get them excited about it, then we can have a positive impact.
We would love to get feedback and use that to help make improvements.
