landing light

Has anyone seen a ragwing with a landing light? if so was it a stc or 337. I imagine it would have to be of the retractable type.

I have a '48 with a retractable landing light that I believe is original equipment. I'll check my books next time I'm at the hangar and post whether there's a 337 in the books for it. JW.

The G-3602, Grimes Motorized Landing Light was optional equipment, installed in accordance with Cessna Dwg. 0422007. If the aircraft left the factory with it, it will be listed on the original equipment list, with no 337 on file. They could be installed in pairs, one left, one right, or there may only be one on the left.

The standard landing light for the ragwing was the fold-down type mounted under the wing,single or double. Mine had a leading-edge landing/taxi light assembly installed years ago.

Mine has a landing & taxi light on the left mounted in the leading edge.

Thanks guys. the owner called me and said it has one on the left wing.
It was that the pics he sent me didnt show the part of the wing where
it was mounted. I know in the olden days they would drop flares to light up the landing zone, not to practicle or prudent in todays world.

What amp fuse is right for the Landing Light?
Mine 25amp fuse blows regularly.

25 Amp is correct. You might have a short somwhere that intermittently occurs. Originally the cigar lighter was also on that circuit, so that's a place to look. Additionally, be certain you have the correct bulbs. They should be GE-4509, 100 watt. If someone has placed a larger wattage bulb in there it would explain blown fuses.
