Great 170 photo in new AOPA Pilot magazine

Post by beechcraftted »

For those of you that are AOPA members and receive the "AOPA Pilot" monthly magazine, there is an absolutely awesome photo on page 10-11 of the January 2013 issue (mine just arrived). The photo is of a ski equipped 170 landing on a glacier at a slight uphill angle at about 5,000 ft. elevation. It is on the Eagle Glacier about 40 miles W of Anchorage, Alaska. Stunning photo on a sunny day of mountains and virgin snow. Take a look if you get a chance.

I saw that yesterday, too. Inspirational photo...I do believe that someday my 170 will have to have skis or floats to optimize its utility and to open up new avenues for fun! I also received the new member package from the board today (thank you very much!) which had a great collection of member's land and sea plane photos - awesome! I love this group!
