I singed a purchase agreement on my first plane Sunday! N1714D is a good looking 1951 A and is scheduled to be delivered Friday, weather permitting. My tail wheel CFI and I start my check-out at 0800 Saturday morning. Can't wait!

I surely hope all goes well for you, good luck.

JP-
Congratulations on your new plane! You will enjoy flying it. Don't get discouraged if it takes awhile to get used to the springy landing gear. And be careful with those double puck brakes, they are strong. Use just enough but not too much!

1714D used to be owned by a good friend of mine here in Fredericksburg, TX and was based here for several years in the hangar across from 1715D.

JP,

What a beautiful bird. The process you are undertaking of getting to know your new gal is an exciting and enjoyable one. Ask lots of questions and fly her even more.

Nice looking plane! We wish you many years of fun while flying it. Bring it to one of our conventions sometime. Congratulations :!:

That's a beauty! Congratulations.

If it was owned by a friend of Richard's you can bet it was well-maintained. Still, keep an eye out for any issues with wheel alignment or tailwheel operation, or anything that would keep it rolling straight on the runway, as it should.

I do plan to attend the convention in Gulf Shores next summer. The Gulf Shores / Ft. Morgan / Orange Beach area is a favorite vacation spot for my family so they are all in. Should be a short 1:40 flight from KHDC. I look forward to meeting you guys.

I have a photo shoot planned in Fredericksburg tomorrow before it leaves Texas. The ferry pilot is also a good friend.

And yes, it was maintained well, by the same shop that maintains mine.
