Hi All
Does Cessna or anyone have the original airplane color data? I am just curious as to the original color of my 54 170B.
Serial 26248.

Thanks

My 1954 was Polar blue from the factory and the instrument panel is blue and a blue interior, did the red ones have a maroon/ red instrument panel?

The IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalog) has a chart indicating the typical interior/exterior colors for all year-models.

Arash, my '53 model has the trim data plate. I believe other years may as well.

My '54, s/n 26498 doesn't have a trim/color info plate.

I do not have the trim data plate. The trim around the black panel is an odd lime green. That is the glove box and around the plastic part around the switches. This plastic around the switches is a maroon color. The green looks 1954. The plackard on the glove box is no longer readable.

Hi Dick,

I pulled up an old picture of your panel on the forums. I'm thinking your '54 was red. The maroon/red plastic overlay behind all of the knobs and switches looks original to me (does it have the little diamonds painted on it? it was hard to tell in the blurry picture I found) and has me convinced. It is relatively rare that people remove all of the switches and knobs to repaint that plastic. On blue '54s, the plastic overlay would be blue.

Great to see a 170 based at Plymouth. I completed my flight training there a few years ago and had a 140 at Taunton. Since then, I've moved home to New York though.

Thanks Ryan
I do have the diamonds on the plastic. This makes sence to me.
