80 acre airport property borders major Expressway HWY 44. They had a local buddy prepare appraisal.

550,000 total value minus 350,000 $ for deconstruction cost yielding 165,000 pay out to FAA.

I am thinking laughable move but wait these are educated real estate type albeit small town. Some one is probably dreamimg about bull dozing a runway.

Surely the FAA realizes a 7 to 10 $ miilion dollar replacement value for a very nice midwest airport.

It's sad to see the bulldozing of nice airports in our neck of the woods. Weiss, St. Charles Muni, Arrowhead, Wentzville... Soon, we won't be able to find a strip shorter than 5,000 ft and 75 ft wide.
