For those that have this conversion, what paperwork was provided with the STC other than the STC document? The reason I ask is all my previous purchases from them have come with STC, parts list and drawings. It appears the engine conversion kit may not which makes it ???

Funny you should ask this as i was having a conversation with a friend about a hour ago on the same subject. When i bought my STC for the engine conversion I received a parts list , a new aircraft [engine] operation pages, a STC certificate and a instruction page on what goes where and what[AND a heap of parts] . To me it was very complete "BUT" I went saw Harry later at Porterville and purchased a STC for the baggage door mod, I gave him $225 cash and he gave me a STC sheet with the baggage door number and STC sheet with other mods ,and I am still waiting for something a little more concrete. I rang him on a number of times and he gave me some instruction over the phone and told me he will tell his wife to post the paper work out to me . Unfortunately Harry has passed on . This all happen about 5 years ago so that source of STC,s might have gone.

I don't understand. Your engine conversion didn't include paperwork? Did you buy and do the conversion or was it already installed when you bought the airplane? Do the logs reference STC SA00461SE ?

Jim,

There should be a parts list, drawings and instruction manual as well as an AFM supplement. A list of eligible aircraft the STC can be used on and a permission letter or wording stating you have permission to use the STC. On STCs created after about 1995 there will also be an ICA document.

Extensive installation/modification instructions accompanied my bag door STC from Del Air. Did you ever receive/complete the mod?

No, didn't receive the required paper work . Every time I asked harry he always said his wife was the email specialist and he would get her to send them to me . As harry isn't with us any more ,I have to let it go .

Perhaps I should be more direct: Do you want a copy of the Installation Instructions?
I just posted them.

Thank you for the instructions , it's is greatly appreciated. It was good to do a comparisons of Harry's STC and a engineering order that I had made [using a DER]for that modification . THey are both 99% the same . I Believe both was based on the Cessna 180 installation. THe legal side of my installation was the easy part but did we have all the rivets facing the right direction was always the question in my mind even though we used a engineering order.
We have done about 4 door mods in our shop and I even helped on the job but never thought at the time to compare the paper work. As the STC approval is owned by the owner of the aircraft it stays with the paper work of that aircraft .so when it was being discussed the other day With a friend about Harry's passing and that access to STC,s would now have dried up.
