Mixture creep

Post by Tim Harter »

My mixture creeps a little in flight. I was looking at the newer style clip 0513173-1 that Cessna has as superseding the three part lock. They want $200 for that little piece of metal. Does anyone have a better source for these or a handful laying around they would sell for a more reasonable price. Thank you.

Quite often the simple fix is an ever so slight bend or kink in the bowden cable near the stationary attach point at the carb. In some cases, depending on the clamp holding the bowden cable at this point, just tightening the clamp will do it. Cost $0

I never liked the little clip-lock type mixture control. My mixture control is a “ratchet” style which has no creep whatsoever, and it can be ordered with a RED knob: https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ ... /a7401.php
