Flap actuator bracket

Hello,
I am new to this Forum and website.
I recently purchased a 1948 C170a and noticed slack in one flap cable. After further investigation I noticed that the flap actuator bracket was bent.
probably from someone deploying the flaps at a high rate of speed I assume...
I looked up the part number and it is 0520106. I have tried contacting all of the junk yards but no luck ( also univair ).
does anyone have any leads for this part?
Thanks in advance..
Jordy

Did you call Sutton’s salvage yard? They show one NOS hinge bracket assembly available.

First thing you must learn. There is no such thing as a 1948 170A. You either have a 1948 170 or you have a 1949 (or later) 170A. Serial numbers are everything. If you'd given us a serial number, we could look up and be sure we are giving you correct advice. You have a 1948 170 serial 18267.

Not that it makes any difference if your bracket is bent, but I wouldn't assume it was from flap deployment at high speed. Why would only one side bend in such a case? Both Flaps would have been deployed overspeed. The 170 flap is locked into the up position by a tab and spring arrangement and is very easily over ridden by wind from the tail. You will see one or both being slammed around independent of each other. If you have to leave your 170 outside in tail winds either turn the plane around, use an auxiliary lock between the flap and the fuselage faring or pull you flaps full on which will lock them in the down position.

Thanks Gary,
I did contact Sutton but they claim that part is not in stock.
Not sure why it shows they have one?
