Another interesting video: Tupolev TU-4

Post by GAHorn »

As a History major in college this particular relationship between the U.S.and it’s Allies and that of the Soviet Union was never mentioned: The war against Japan in the Pacific could have been considerably facilitated if the Soviet Union had allowed the U.S. & Allies to utilize Sakhalin to bomb Japan …instead of having to step-by-step work their way up thru the Mariannas and other “island-hopping” warfare.

Curious how Comrade Stalin continued to enjoy Lend-Lease and outright gifts of Allied equipment as Allied soldiers died island-hopping, when Stalin refused Allied use of Soviet territories and continued to allow Japan to harvest oil and energy from the Eastern Soviet territories.

Anyway…. back to the TU-4 and how USSR acquired the means to deliver atomic weapons against former Allies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVP_elhMz-A
