Jordy,
I see that you're relatively new to the forum. The consensus here seems to be that nobody is repairing the original "pancake-style" muffler and owners have been forced to install mufflers from the later models. See this discussion. Unfortunately, you must replace them both at one time; you can't have a pancake-style on the right and a new style Hanlon-Wilson on the left side. I do see that Preferred Air Parts has one NOS right side pancake muffler in stock (p/n 0550290-1) - probably the last new one in existence. I don't know if one could do a mufflerectomy to make that work for the left side. My guess is that it would be cheaper to just do the conversion to the later style using AK70A51-1 as approved data for the alteration.

Hi Gary, Thanks so much for the response. My c170 does already have the "new style exhaust". they are in relatively good shape except for the front elbow on the left side is a little thin and I am afraid it might fail at an un opportune time.

IF your exhaust has already been modified to the later HW exhaustI then it might be useful to know that AWI, Inc has been one of our supporters for years. I suggest you contact them and ask for Charlie Felds.
