Club Parking at OSH

Can someone shed some light on how certain groups of planes have pre-arranged group parking in some of the best areas at OSH. Last year they held 25 spots for the C180 club, 25 for Aeroncas, 30 for Swifts, 20 for Thorps... These areas were between rows 60 and 75. Meanwhile they were parking all other planes, including past show winners halfway to Mexico in rows 175!

Do we have enough OSH attendees to arrange a group parking/camping area?

I have parked about in the same spot the last few years at Oshkosh and the row right in front of me was all Luscombe's. Because I dont camp with the airplane I like to be up closer to the "Red Barn" and the show airplanes. Was about row 48 or 52 something like that. Would be fun to get a good row (or two!) of 170s hopefully not too far south. Maybe serveral of us can write some emails and figure out who to contact then post our findings here.

We will be flying N1909C (54' 170B) to Oshkosh this year. We plan to arrive Monday 26 July. We will be camping with the plane, so I don't know if that makes a difference in our parking row. If you can get any information on parking in mass, please post it. We will be leaving home (Suffolk,Virginia) for parts west on the 8th of July. Hope to see other Association members at the show. Well... I never took the time to try to find out anything about parking together. Hope to meet some of the crew from the forum up there. I'll have my 170 on the line flying my Texas flag. Come by and say HI. Who else is comin up for sure?

I'll be there! My hangar neighors have spam-cans and I will be camping next to them. They describe the area as being in the North 40 and right next to the handicapped parking/camping - planes that have flown in with handicapped pilots. Drop by and visit. Should be easy to identify me, other than the white/green A model, wide eyed first timer. If weather permits and I don't run over George (he probably started out last week) on the way up there, planning on arriving early Saturday afternoon on the 24th.

I am meeting with the co-chair of OSH parking (Geoff Robinson) to discuss a type club row FOR 170's that would be located between the Hanger Cafe and the Ultralight Red Barn for next years' event. I will ask for 15 spots and get details of when they open and how long the spots are held before being released to any other incoming aircraft. BTW: Geoff is a member also and flys a 1950 A model 170.

Anyone else planning to fly into OSH on SAT the 24th? I'll be monitoring 122.75 on the flight in. I have met alot of great people by just talking on the radio as I fly along.

Joe... you and I might be close enough to give position reports on our trip up.

If I can push thru that darn front causing all of the rain and hail, will be parked in row 505 space #2 in GAC. If possible, will take off a little before sunrise tomorrow(Sat) morning, and would be up there about 4ish, but it looks like it will not be a straight route. Looking forward to sharing a cold one, or two with all of you that can make it during the week.
