Autopilots

I have been talking to the people at S_Tec for five years now on getting an autopilot approval for the C-170. I think I finally have their attention.
I would like to find out the interest from the C170 group on if they would be interested in a S-Tec autopilot for their aircraft.
If you would be interested (firm interest, Cash in hand) let me know so I can talk with S-Tec with some numbers.
Thanks

I think I might be interested in an auto pilot or even just a wing leveler, however, I think S Tec is likely much too expensive for me.What kind of a price do you think they may come up with?

Brian,

I might also be interested in an auto-pilot for my 1953 Cessna 170B. Cost would obviously be a factor. I have not done any research yet for an auto-pilot.

The Century I wing leveller is already approved (for about 5 decades now) for the C-170. It's a fairly straightforward, simple thing, that controls ailerons only using a replacement turn & bank gauge. Price THAT and see if you're still interested!
A full blown S-tec capable of altitude control, NO NAV capability will likely cost $5-7K or more. While it'd be great to have one, the 170 fly's so nicely hands-off (rudder only) I can't justify it. Besides....I like the 170 because I want to FLY! (Have you ever had another pilot in the cockpit and allowed them to have the controls? Heh-Heh.)
