Recently, I've been a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight SE (southeast) and have flown two missions so far. This organization provides flights for needy people, mostly for medical services. It is not an air ambulance service- the passengers must be ambulatory (except for children). Pilots provide the airplane at own expense. Most FBO's give fuel discounts and ATC treats us well with the "Angel Flight"call sign.

They also work with Homeland Security and in past days have been inundated with requests for flights for hurricane-displaced people. They are looking for more pilot volunteers now.
Angel Flight SE covers the states of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. The web site is http://angelflightse.org/
They post flights on a special web site and you can "bid" for flights that suit you. They generally break flights into legs of some 300 miles and long trips are flown buy two or more pilots and planes.

Rudy; I am a pilot for Angel Flight West. They are setting up a list of members that with twins and high performace singles. That will leave us small singles to pick up the slack to take care of things here.
