Did the Aeromatic propellor have a spinner installed with it on the 170s?

Not that I've seen. In fact, every period photo I've seen of an Aeromatic installation never had a spinner - didn't matter if it was a 170, 140, Stinson, Swift, Monocoupe, whatever.

I seem to recall the Aeromatic necessitating pre-flight inspection of the counterweights and therefore no spinner.

Cubbuilder, I had the aeromatic prop installed on my plane for 4-5 years and yes it did have a spinner. however things have channged as George pointed out, the aeromatic is now only good on the c145-2h( i think that's right). I had it on the O300-A and the spinner was from the swift group. very big to cover the counterwgts. but made things look better. Ron
