Do you own a close to stock 170? Is it painted or polished just like it would have come from the factory?

Then please send me some photos! I would like to assemble a collection of photos of every year model. Exterior shot, interior shot and panel shot. Please email them to me at danlinn "at" sbcglobal.net

Also as a part of this collection I want to include advertisements from every year. I have them for the 53, 54, 55 and 56. Anyone have a copy they could scan for me?

The plan is to assemble the collection to be posted on the internet for research purposes. Not for profit.... Photo credits will be given. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Dan,

I can give you a bunch of stuff. I have a bunch of '52 ads plus an original sales brochure, owners manual, etc. I will laso send pics of my plane as it is in the factory '52 scheme.

Dan,
I almost forgot, I have issues of AIR FACTS magazine from 1948, 1949 and 1950 that have 170 ads in them. Again, let me know if youre interested.

Thanks guys....

Doug... would love to get photos of your 52. As far as the ads if you might scan one that would be great.

Trake... I have a 55 sales brochure that came with my 56 model. My guess is that mine was built in late 55 so most of the paperwork with mine shows 55 photos. Even the flight manual is a 55! I'll keep in touch.

Dan, Go to my web site and go to the "In Print" section. Check out the Viewmaster link, I think it's a real hoot that Cessna produced a viewmaster disk of the 170.

Doug,

I had seen your web site before but missed the section "In Print" so I will pull some of those scans off of there. That viewmaster is fun stuff! Talk about a rare item!! Love the wording they used in their advertising!

Yeah, the wording's a real hoot. How many women would want their picture to have the caption "Yard wide doors"... associated with it? :P Not my wife, that for sure!

And to help settle an occasional question... notice how the wheel pants are mounted parallel with the ground...not the airplane fuselage.
Nice Viewmaster collectible!
