That is where I work. We don't have saabs anymore but we did repair that a/c and passed it on to Mesaba.

Fred, where do you keep your 170? I am in TUP.
I remember seeing that Northwest aircraft on the local news a while back.
As I recall it just rolled off into the ditch, correct.

Sorry for the slow response, I have a hanger at wolf river airport (54M). My plane is usually there or Dewitt Spain (M01).
The Saab 366px had just been parked by mechanics. They set the brake and were on their way into the hanger to get some chocks when the brake released on it's on. This has happened more times than I can count. In the past the small concrete stops along the edge of the ramp would stop the a/c. Look real close in the picture and you can see the spaces between them. You guessed it the right gear was lined up perfectly with one of the spaces. the right gear started down the hill and pulled the left gear over the concrete block and right into the ditch she went. Amazingly the right wing suffered no damage except for the tip fairing. Several skins on the lower tail had to be replaced and It was flying again in a few weeks.
