I am considering buying a 170. Can anyone recommend a book or website that describes differences in models, options, upgrades, etc. I am piecing bits together from the forum, but it would be nice to find it in one place.

Also, is it feasible to update a 170 instrument panel to a standard T? Thanks.

Its all here on this website. Try The Pilot Lounge page, 5th topic from the top "History of the Cessna 170". Modifying to a T can be problematic due to control yoke interference behind the panel. If you are an A&P its probably feasible. I like the original look and think theres too much modifying going on. Whatever

Tracy hit the nail on the head. It is all here. I'm sure you can't think on one subject h regarding the 170 that we haven't discussed.

Yes you can modify to a T configuration but as Tracy said it's not easy.

Use the search at the top of the forum to look for things your interested in. At least on thread on the T configuration has pictures to show some of the mods required.

I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that the 170 Association has a book which also has several modifications and how-to-do-things articles but we have covered all of it and more here.
