I saw one six right when it was on tour in with the special high def Sony projector.

Very cool and very well done. I highly recommend it. I have a DVD copy that I bought at OSH this year...

Night Riders has a fantastic opening scene with James Coburn in a PBY in the Agean sea. The rest is "ho-hum"... but that opening scene... Wow!

Battle of Britain
Tora Tora Tora
(don't much care for computer-generated airplanes and computer-graphic flying scenes the current crop of "flying" movies have.)

I like the movie "ALWAYS." It just has some really cool planes. It also has the greatest opening scene of all time!!!

Watch for, "Captains of the Clouds," with James Cagney. The first half the seaplanes are the stars - mainly a Norseman. Some great footage and some of the worst [but entertaining] special effects you've ever seen, ok for the 1940's.

It's on TMC now and then, I get sucked in everytime it's on when I'm clicking between Fox Sports and Fox News.

Not many good flying movies. "One-Six right" was good. Also, "Fate is the Hunter" was good, but I was a kid when I saw it. I think Glenn Ford was the star. You never see it on the classic movie stations, not sure why.

For me it is "TWELVE O'CLOCK HIGH" with Gregory Peck.

I've used the ploy about the aircraft he named "The Leper Colony" many times at work.
