OK I know this has been discussed numerous times, but I am now ready to take the plunge & buy a sealed battery because at this weekend's flyin I discovered the corrosion has eaten through the battery box and even though my current GILL G-25 is working fine, I am not going to continue fighting the corrosion problem I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to have any more of it Anyone willing to give me a personal testimonial which is best--Gill G-25S vs Concorde RG-25 ot possibly otheres? Best pricing? I know I can get the Gill from Spruce for $121.00 & free shipping. Don't know why the Concorde is a bit higher ($134.00). Would a gel be better? I like the idea of the Odessey, but since its not approved I don't think I want to fight the FAA to get it approved. I will appreciate responses.
My Gill just died after 2 years and I am going with a sealed unit. I can't remember the brand but my mechanic (who I trust) has assured me I will get better reliability without the potential of leaks and fumes. Good luck.
Pokey- No matter which battery you buy or what you do with your battery box, when you're done with cleaning and repairing the box, paint the inside of the box and the cable ends/posts with ACF-50 or Corrosion-X and it will STOP corroding. I did that 5 years ago and have had no further white powder on the box or any corrosion on the cables/posts.

Corrosion X is available in aerosol cans from Spruce and Wag Aero as well as many other sources. It is a common product.
Someone here in an earlier post mentioned putting baking soda in the bottom of the box which I haven't done. I do use a product I think made by Permatex an sold in auto stores sprayed on to the terminals to stop corrosion which is less expensive than Corrosion X if that is all you want it for.
