Well, PHOOEY! I outwitted myself. I had to be at work at 6:30AM, so I needed to get up at 5:30AM. Knowing the I.T. world was going to blow this one, I set my alarm to wake me at 4:30 (which would actually be 5:30 on my cell phone...or so I thought.)
When it went off this morining I was so disoriented I couldn't figure things out. My wristwatch said it was 5:30, my cell phone said it was 4:30 (and was ringing) and my clock radio said it was 3:30.
The cell phone company had gotten it right and had updated their software (despite their having text-messaged me the day before that they would not be re-setting the clocks yet)...so my attempt to make things work by setting the alarm for 4:30 woke me up an hour too early.

Of course, then I couldn't get back to sleep and now, 6 hours later at work, I'm dying for a nap!

Daylight Saving Time

George, live is a beach isn't it

I feel sorry for all those farmers whose chickens will have to deal with that extra hour of daylight.

That was an actual complaint at one time when daylight savings time was being discussed.

I know the farmers must be glad we went to daylight savings early this year too. Three weeks at an hour a day = 21 hours more daylight for the crops now and 7 more hours in the fall. The price of ethanol is sure to drop.
We can all use that extra hour a day too, no telling how much more everyone can get done. The world is sure to be a better place.

I would like to see daylight removed from Washington DC.

Until they come up with something useful!!!!!!!

I never understood this Daylight savings time thing until I read here recently that the reason for the extra time in the day is because summer days are warmer and everyone knows that things expand when heated.

Farmers actually hate it and it costs them money. The already strapped airlines will be even further out-of-sync with Europe and it will cost them Million$.
And worst of all...little schoolkids will be waiting in the dark for their school bus an hour longer.
If they were going to have daylite savings time, I think they should have it in the WINTER when we need it. Not in the summer when days are already longer!
